Directed by Alireza Motamedi, ‘Reza’ has been selected to vie at the 9th edition of Beijing International Film Festival.
The film narrates the story of an author named Reza who aims to write a story about the immigration of his ancestors to Isfahan –an ancient city in Iran. This character and his wife separate but he finds it difficult to start a new life without her. Therefore, Reza starts thinking about his own personality to find out why his wife can’t tolerate him.
Sahar Dolatshahi, Setareh Pesyani, Reza Davoudnejad, Afsar Asadi, Pantea Marzbanian, Nasim Mirzadeh, Marjan Moshtaqian, and Solmaz Ghani are among the cast of the film.
‘Reza’ has so far attended a number of international film events and has succeeded to gain awards too. It was presented at the 33rd Belfort Entrevues International Film Festival in France and won the 15,000 Euro Cine+Distribution Support Award.
It also has attended the 2018 edition of Mumbai Film Festival.
The 9th edition of Beijing festival is set to run April 13-20, 2019.
